My name is Fr. Andrew DeKeyser. Many people have asked what I want to be called. I am fine with either Fr. Andrew or Fr. DeKeyser. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and growing in faith and in love of Jesus Christ with you. I grew up in Muncie, Indiana, which is also in the Lafayette Diocese. I studied Computer and Electrical Engineering at Purdue University and then worked as an Engineer for about 10 years. I went to seminary at the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio and I was ordained a priest 10 years ago. I was first assigned as Parochial Vicar at St. Mary Cathedral and St. Lawrence in Lafayette. Then, I was sent to study Canon Law for 3 years. Since returning, I have been Defender of the Bond on the Marriage Tribunal and also Vice Chancellor in the Chancery. While working in those offices, I assisted with weekend Masses and Confessions for a year at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Carmel, Indiana and during the other years, I was a supply priest on the weekends, helping in any parish in the diocese where a priest was sick or on vacation. For the last year, I have been Administrator of Sacred Heart Parish in Remington, Indiana. I have really loved pastoring that parish, and so I am really looking forward to being a full-time Pastor in this new Pastorate!
