My name is Lisa Brady. I am a member of St. Joseph in Pulaski. I grew up in Pulaski County. My parents were farmers. I grew up with 1 brother and 1 sister. My sister died in a car accident in 1999 and my brother lives in the home we grew up in. We did not belong to any church growing up, but my parents raised us to follow the Ten Commandments. I met my husband in high school. It was then that I was introduced to the Catholic faith. My sister and I joined the Catholic faith together in 1984. I married Larry Brady in 1984. He was in the Air Force and his first duty assignment was at Elmendorf Alaska. We lived there for 3.5 years. We had our son Nathaniel there. We moved home and had our daughter Ashlee. I taught 1st and 2nd grade CCD for 10 years. I went back to work when both of our kids were in school.
I worked in a bank and worked my way from a teller to office manager. I have always loved helping people. I had to leave banking due to some health issues. In January I started helping count the contributions. This past spring my sister-in-law and best friend moved to Maine. Before she left there was an ad in the bulletin for the Administrative Assistant position. I felt like God was showing me an open door. I interviewed with Father DeKeyser and Melissa. When I got the notice that I was hired, I was filled with many emotions-joy, fear, dread, and anxiousness.
In the office I have learned many different tasks. I apologize if I have ever disconnected anyone on the phone. I find the Sacramental records very interesting. I have enjoyed working on the new Pastorate directory. I work on funeral programs and input the weekly contributions in our system. When you call the office, I am usually the one who answers the phone. I am also in the office 9-5 Monday through Friday. If you stop by the office, I will be happy to greet you at the door.
I am in the choir at St. Joseph and the Christian Mothers. I am a very proud mom and grandmother. I have 4 beautiful grandchildren, 2 boys and 2 girls. I am honored to say they are all following the Catholic Faith. God knew what I needed when this job opened. I love what I do and am willing to do what I can for anyone. My family includes my Church family.
